Striped feature walls are a fun way to add character to a room and a simple way to have fun with paint. With a grey and white contrast, it also gives you more to work with when decorating and reduces the risk of being too plain.

Step One

To start off, use a spirit level to help you with accuracy and getting the lines perfectly straight, instead of measuring down at intervals from the ceiling, which may not be level. Once you have pencilled in your lines in grey led you’re ready for the next step!

Step Two

Cover those pencil marks with tape to give you space for panting with the roller. Remember: every second line should be wide, as you’ll be covering the tape with your grey paint. This keeps the painted and not painted stripes even.

Step Three

Ensure you go a shade lighter than you would like to use as it will blend better, giving you a nice shade to work with once you add décor and colour to the room.

We recommend Silver Treasure, or Grey Spirit as a complimentary shade to white.

Step Four

Allow the paint to dry for 48 hours before putting any furniture and artwork against it.

Using a grey and white contrast for a striped feature wall allows you to get imaginative with colour and décor without clashing, and gives you creative licence to change up colours as certain trends change.
