3 Tips to Add Style to your Rental

Being a renter doesn’t mean having to live with lifeless walls and flooring. The possibilities are endless; all you need is your imagination! If you’re stuck for ideas, here are three of our best tips to add life to a rental property.

1. Go Green

Bring plants, pots, terrariums and herb gardens into your home to add style and colour and an interesting effect. Even on a limited budget, plants breathe life into the stalest interiors and can remake an entire space. Try hanging your terrariums or get creative with a potted kitchen herb garden.

2. Experiment with soft furnishings

Add warmth to your space with blankets, throws, pillows and curtains. A well-curated collection of soft furnishings will give your home a great effect. Try draping a thick woollen throw off the side of a couch or hang temporary fabric drapes around your venetian blinds. To hide an unpleasant wall colour, hang large tapestries of interesting fabrics to give your space a quick makeover.

3. Floor décor

A large amount of a home’s colour comes from the flooring. Counteract old or badly coloured carpets or scuffed floorboards with interesting rugs and carpet cut outs. Don’t stop there, depending on your budget, you could even give temporary timber flooring a go, or perhaps just well cut lino.
