Paint on your clothes? Get the hairspray.

Step One

You’ll need some hairspray, a washcloth and a scrub brush, in case the paint stains are particularly tough. Why hairspray? Because it contains isopropyl alcohol, which works wonders on paint stains.

Step Two

Spray the hairspray over the paint stain. Don’t hold back; the stain should look wet with spray. Let it soak for a few minutes.

Step Three

Scrub the stain with your washcloth, or the brush if it’s tough. If the paint isn’t coming off, give it a little more hairspray.

Step Four

Once you’ve removed most of the paint, run it through the wash. And that’s it — a pair of clean, good-as-new jeans!
